The eatery, Yuan Ramen, located in Yunlin, Taiwan, promoted its new culinary innovation known as “Frog Frog Frog Ramen” which is priced at NT$250 (US$8) per bowl. For those who simply want to photograph this unusual dish, a charge of NT$100 ($3.20) applies.
The proprietor of the ramen establishment explained that frog consumption is quite commonplace in their locality, inspiring her to add a local flavor to their ramen. She noted that a number of adventurous customers have sampled the frog ramen and expressed enjoyment of the unique dish; however, the decision to permanently feature this item on their menu is still being deliberated.
In spite of the significant attention drawn on social media, the owner stated that it’s business as usual at their shop. As she told Taiwan News, “It’s still the same endless cycle of soup, meat, eggs, and bamboo shoots.” (KBAPI)
